Color Guard consists of 8 minute performances on the football field that include choreographed dance, flag, and weapon work. We learn and march our drill along with the marching band during these shows. This season typically goes from June until October. During these months we perform Nebraska State Band Masters Association (NSBA) competitions at various high schools / states. We perform our show during Millard South's at home football game halftime shows.
Winter Guard is an indoor competitive team sport that focuses on performance, dance, and equipment skills. Our season lasts from the beginning of December until the start of April. We compete in the Heartland Winter Arts Association (HWAA) circuit which puts on competitions at various high schools in the metro area on Saturdays during the winter and early spring.
It is the goal of the Millard South guard staff to educate students to build better performers and teammates.
