8th Medical Seminar at Boys Town Hospital

Thanks Dr. Allen & associates @Boys Town National Research Hospital!

Students learned:

  • To suture (It was really difficult!)
  • To put casts each other's arms & learned about orthopedics
  • Read x-rays (They were so lucky to keep the stethoscopes, and were quite adorable wearing them around their necks.)
  • Listen for a heart beat & learned what's normal & not normal
  • Heard from doctors in various fields
  • Visited the labs (Our kids who love science felt that was the place for them.)
  • Visited the surgery rooms & learned from the anesthesiologist
  • Watched a live scope down Dr. Allen's nose & throat (It was gross & cool!)

  • About Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences (visited the labs too)
  • About Medical Laboratory Technology (visited the labs too)

  • Emergency Medicine (EMT/Paramedics)Visited the inside of an ambulance & learned from paramedics

  • About Plastic surgery for patients with cancer (There is so much math involved.)
