All That Families Need to Be Ready for the School Year!
All That Families Need to Be Ready for the School Year!
This page contains a large amount of information. We want to ensure everyone has all the information they need to be ready to start the year.
Students are welcome to come to the building on July 30th and 31st from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. to see the building, walk their schedule, practice their locker combination and pick up bus passes. We strongly encourage all students to practice their locker combination before the first day of school. ALL students will use their locker.
PLEASE NOTE THE FIRST DAYS OF SCHOOLS SCHEDULES BELOW - The first day of school (August 12th) is the 6th grade ONLY.
All returning families are required to start at Step 1. Completion of Step 1 is essential for ALL returning Kiewit families. This ensures all of our records (email, phone, etc.) are accurate for communication to our families. This step will be completed in ParentVUE/StudentVUE.
You will find information regarding the Fall Check-In process for all KMS families. This year Fall Check-In will be completed ONLINE. Please see the list of steps below for you to complete. If you do not have the ability to complete payment online, please print this FORM and mail the form and a check to Kiewit.

Step 1 - Check in and verification families have completed the Annual Update in Synergy Parent VUE/Pay Cooperative Loss Fee
REQUIRED STEP FOR ALL KMS RETURNING FAMILIES
Synergy Parent VUE Website: ParentVUE/StudentVUE
Families will complete the Annual Update - Thank you for all that have done this already!
Families will pay the $20 for the Cooperative Loss Agreement for each student attending Kiewit. This is for those that have indicated "Yes" to accepting this agreement. If you have indicated "No" and have changed your mind, please contact the office before Fall Orientation. Please know that if you have indicated "No" any damages that may occur will be at full price. You can use the district one-to-one website (HERE), to see the difference in those prices and exactly what the Cooperative Loss Agreement looks like. The specific price sheet can be found HERE.
The fee can be paid online in Synergy Parent VUE. This fee does not carry over from year to year and all families should strongly consider paying the $20 Cooperative Loss Fee. The prices of replacement parts are drastically different for those that choose not to purchase the Cooperative Loss. The $20.00 fee subsidizes and lowers the cost of a repair but does not replace an incurred repair fee.
Step 2 - Athletics/Activities/Nurse
All 7th grade students are required to have a complete physical and updated Tdap vaccine. The form that will need to be completed is listed below as the "MPS Physical Form" and has more required components than a sport clearance form. These components are required by the state of Nebraska and include height, weight, vision screen, hearing screen & a notation for sport clearance. Also required is the updated Tdap vaccine, so please be sure to attach an updated immunization record. These forms may be mailed to Kiewit, turned in on July 30th or 31st, or brought to school the first day of school. An electronic copy may be emailed to our nurse at rlznamenacek@mpsomaha.org. Our nurse does check her email at least once a week during the summer and will let you know if the forms are sufficient. Some doctor's offices have their own forms, which is ok, however please make sure that the state required components are included on that form.
8th grade students participating in athletics are required to have a sports physical. This form is listed below as the "MPS Athletic Physical/Participation Form." This form may be mailed to Kiewit, turned in on July 30th or 31st, brought to school the first day or emailed to our nurse at rlznamenacek@mpsomaha.org. Our nurse will also review these forms to be sure they are sufficient.

This form may be mailed to Kiewit, turned in on July 30th or 31st, brought to school the first day or emailed to our nurse at rlznamenacek@mpsomaha.org. Our nurse will also review these forms to be sure they are sufficient.
Students that have indicated through OLR that they will be participating in athletics will verify completion.
