Hello families! We are thrilled to be working with each and every student in our classes! We hope that you find this information helpful while your student is in our second-grade classrooms!

In second grade, one skill that we work on all year is responsibility. A STAR folder will be taken home and brought back to school every day and will have everything the students need on a daily basis. STAR folders stand for Students Take Academic Responsibility. In the folder, you will find our weekly newsletter, spelling words, homework and work done in class. Please help to encourage your second grader to show you this each night.

Students will receive homework on Mondays and need to return it back on Fridays. In addition, students will be completing a reading log each month. Please check their STAR folder for any papers or assignments! Each section is labeled and will help your student become more responsible and accountable!
