Ms. Bruhn's Bio

I am a lifelong resident of Morris Plains.  I am proud that my roots are here, and that I can share my memories of my childhood spent in Morris Plains with my students!   My teaching career began in 1994 after graduating from St. Mary’s College, Indiana with BA in Elementary Education. After graduation I worked at St. Joseph’s School in Mendham (Kindergarten), then onto St. Patrick School Chatham (3rd, 4th, 5th Grades) from 1995-1999.  Then, I went to  Cedar Hill School in Basking Ridge where I taught 2nd Grade until 2002.  I also received my Master’s Degree (MAT) in the same year.  I then stayed home to raise my children for 10 years.

In 2012, I took a Maternity Leave position at Milton Avenue School in Chatham (3rd Grade).  The following year, my heart brought me back to Morris Plains, and I began work as a classroom aide here at Borough School. I then took the 4th Grade position for 3 years, taught one year in the 3rd grade, and now teach all English Language Arts classes for the 4th Grade.

I have 2 daughters who keep me very busy outside of school hours, and a dog named Gertie that you will see me walking at all times of the day and night!   In my spare time I also enjoy reading and going to LBI.
