Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica

 La Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (Spanish Honor Society), sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP), is a national organization for high school students who study Spanish or Portuguese. 

To recognize high achievement in Spanish and Portuguese by students in secondary schools and to promote a continuity of interest in Hispanic Studies. 

The LHS Asturias Chapter was established in January 2016.  The sponsor is Jessica Swemke, a member of AATSP.    The chapter is named after Asturias, the Spanish Comunidad Autónoma where Sra. Swemke studied abroad in college.
