Library Media Team

Our district’s vision goes beyond our students and teachers to include the entire community in which we proudly serve. We hold the attitude that if we keep our district families’ best interests in mind, we can transform our stakeholders into a community of learners. Together we face challenges and strive for a better tomorrow for our locale and globally as we interact with the world around us. We believe we are preparing our students and our community to take their place in life as competitive participants of the world.

Through collaboration, data collection, and analysis, the library media team builds a culture of inquiry and a love of learning by striving to provide a strategic and common scope and sequence across all grade bands.

Goals

1. By the end of the school year 2026-27, the Manitowoc Public School District Library Media Team will create K-12 book selection guidelines and a collection development plan that supports our district literacy initiatives and addresses the age appropriateness criteria at each grade level.

2. By the end of the school year 2026-27, the Manitowoc Public School District Library Media Team will create a scope and sequence for library media instruction.

3. By the end of the 2026-27 school year, the Manitowoc Public School District Library Media Team will provide regular training to all MPSD staff on accessing databases, integrating educational technology, and fostering digital citizenship.
