Our aim is to develop global competence in ourselves and to continue to promote global competence for others. According to EdSteps, "global competence is the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to understand and act creatively and innovatively on issues of global significance."
The components of the Global Competence Matrix include:

Members of the club will have opportunities to learn about and experience different cultures through guest speakers and cultural activities in order to better understand the world in which we live and our role as global citizens. Members will serve as "cultural ambassadors" to the school and our local community. Each year we will organize and participate in at least one service-learning project to aid local groups or international groups.
Guest speakers may include:
Foreign exchange students
Visiting teachers and students from partner schools abroad
Peace Corps volunteers
Community members
College students
Business people
Others that have lived, worked or volunteered abroad
Students and staff who would like to share their heritage
And more!
Cultural activities may include:
Cooking different ethnic foods and learning about their role in the culture
Exchanging culture boxes with students in other countries in order to have an in-depth study of culture and perspectives
Language lessons
Foreign films
Dance lessons
Communication and collaboration with students locally and abroad via Skype and other forms of technology to make connections and share cultures
Visits to cultural centers
Interviews
