Be respectful and encouraging of others — professional behavior expected at all times.
Wear clothing that allows freedom of movement.
Prepare 90 seconds of a musical theatre piece in the style of the school musical.
Select a song that highlights your vocal ability and characterization of the character you wish to audition for.
A karaoke/backing track must be provided by the actor (on a phone/tablet).
No a cappella unless approved by directors.
Memorization is Expected.
Perform a short monologue (30 seconds), OR a cold read may be provided.
Choose a monologue from a published play or musical — school-appropriate.
Demonstrate clear character choices, diction, and storytelling.
Memorization strongly encouraged.
All auditioners must attend A group dance call. After everyone in your block auditions, you will have 10 minutes to learn a short dance and then perform it for the judges.
Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toed dance shoes or sneakers.
Performance will be judged on:
Rhythm
Coordination
Stage presence
Ability to learn movement quickly
Headshot and resume must be provided. The headshot will not be returned.
Students must confirm any known conflicts on their scheduling form.
Callback list posted following initial auditions.
Callback materials (scenes/songs) will be provided if needed.
Not receiving a callback does NOT mean you won’t be cast.
The cast list will be posted after callbacks.
By auditioning, students agree to:
Respect rehearsal and performance schedules.
Attend all required tech rehearsals and performances.
Support fellow cast members and uphold school theatre expectations.
Accept any role granted to you by the directorial staff.
