Book Check Out
Students in grades K-2 may check out one book from the Everybody section. Students in 3-5 make check out books from the entire library, including the Everybody section.
While students are encouraged to choose a "Just Right" book, they have the freedom to pick any books they want.
Books are due during the next library class (typically 7-10 days). Books may be renewed in grades 3-5 only if the student brings the book to class.
Book Care
Books should be returned in the same condition they are checked out. I take note of any current damages, including torn pages and damaged covers or spines.
If books are damaged, but can be repaired, students are give a reminder about book care and may continue to check out books.
If a book is damaged beyond repair, the student account will be charged for the replacement. This fee varies, depending on the book.
Books that are considered "lost" - either by student admission or because they have been checked out for 1+ month - will be marked as such. The book will have to be returned or a replacement fee paid.
Students may not check out books while they have a fine on their account.
