Content Area: Math
Standard: 3.26-Recognize and describe polygons (up to 8 sides),
triangles, and quadrilaterals (rhombuses, rectangles, and
squares) based on the number of sides and the presence or
absence of square corners.
Artifacts
Objective:
Students will be able to identify two-dimensional shapes, draw two dimensional shapes and their attributes. Compare, categorize and identify two-dimensional according to their attributes and know which ones do not belong
Scavenger Hunt Directions:
You will use your graphic organizer to go on a Scavenger Hunt and find polygons, lines, and angles around the school.
- Use your GeoStix to check the angles you see.
- Write down where you found each example.
- When time timer goes off, line up at the end of the hallway and we will walk to another location.
- Walk safely and use quiet voices.
Guidelines:
- Be respectful of other classes in the hallways.
- Walk, don’t run.
- Use your GeoStix correctly—they are tools.
- Try your best to find as many examples as you can.
