To make the most of the Internet, we need to be prepared to make smart decisions. Be Internet Awesome teaches kids the fundamentals of digital citizenship and safety so they can explore the online world with confidence.
Latina Ambassadors will work with community organizations to help youth and seniors learn how to protect themselves when online, learn to spot online scams, and set up secure social media accounts. We are partnering with Google for Education to facilitate workshops using the Be Internet Awesome Curriculum.

Google's Applied Digital Skills curriculum consists of courses and lessons designed to build digital literacy and job-ready skills. In this workshop series, you will learn how to use digital tools like Google Sites for creating a digital portfolio, Google Sheets for creating a budget, and Google Slides for creating professional presentations. We will also cover tips on dressing for the part and makeup looks, as well as how to project your voice and articulate your point of view. In our College Readiness session, we will cover how to leverage the use of Google tools to create a plan for applying to schools and build a portfolio to showcase your skills. Our final session will dive into the role our digital footprint plays in both our personal and professional lives. Register to join us virtually every Saturday in October.

Mexican sweets are diverse in their textures, flavors, and colors. Among the many notable pan dulces and galletas, Mexican hot chocolate, dulce de coco, and Mexican wedding cookies are some favorites. During this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to make some of these treats from scratch. We will explore the history of these treats, identify the ingredients, and create digital content for helping educate others on the traditions of our culture. Take home some holiday treats and ornaments to share with your family.
