ACCESS for ELLs

The WIDA ACCESS is an English language proficiency assessment taken annually by students identified as English learners (ELs) to determine their progress towards English language proficiency. English learners who received special education services and meet alternate assessment participation guidelines may take the WIDA Alternate ACCESS. Both assessments measure students' English-language development in reading, listening, writing, and speaking. EL students take this assessment each year until they meet Minnesota's language proficiency requirements and are exited from EL services.
