Raina Williams

My name is Raina Williams and I have been in partnership with MPS since 2006 in all sorts of educational roles.  ALL of my professional teaching experiences have been on the Northside of Minneapolis. #Northside   

My professional academic studies are in Urban Teaching and Educational Leadership. For me, creating and building relationships with students is the first step in producing a safe holistic learning community for ALL my students. 

I chose to teach at North Community High School because I grew up on the Northside, I currently reside on the Northside, and I am invested in positive representations of the Northside. I know that the students who attend North High School are indeed those positive representatives. and I am determined to prove so. I am committed and passionate about teaching students a different perspective of history and my mission is for students to enjoy exploring World History and US History with me. I want to bring student voices to the community, without shame,nor guilt. I strive to see truth in our education units, our daily lessons and discussions. The bonus for me as the facilitator is that hopefully,  my; our scholars will enjoy Social Studies with me. 📚
