North High Site Council Meetings

MPS values family and community members as active partners in reviewing funding, policies, practices and programs at our schools. All MPS schools, including North High, have site councils to support site-based decision making to increase academic outcomes for our students. Site councils are a way that parents and community members can learn what is happening in their school and influence decisions. It's important for site councils to reflect the student population of the schools to ensure a diversity of ideas and input.

North High School's site council is made up of administration, teachers, student representatives, community members and parents. They convene every 2nd Wednesday of the month, from 5:30 - 7 pm.

During the COVID pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, North High began to hold its site council meetings virtually via the platform Zoom. After returning to in person learning and contact, it was decided by the council to continue to hold these meetings on Zoom as it serves as an efficient way for members to convene without the restraints of needing to be onsite. Virtual meetings also enable the replacement of taking meeting minutes with simply recording the entire meeting for 100% accuracy.
