The mission of the Counseling Team at North High School is to provide social-emotional support in order to assist all students in achieving their personal and academic goals and to ensure college and career readiness for each student.  Our vision is to implement a comprehensive school counseling program while collaborating with students, staff, families, and the community to provide opportunities that result in the best outcome for every student.

School Counselors:

• Provide social emotional support, solution-focused counseling,  and short-term crisis interventions  for students in collaboration with other support staff

• Assist students  with academic planning, goal setting, and class schedules in collaboration with teachers

• Maintain credit evaluations to ensure students are on track for graduation

• Support students in post-secondary planning (college & career readiness with support from our College & Career Coordinator)

• Support students with alternative education plans

• Assist with referrals to other school & mental health supports (School Social Workers, School-based Therapy/Northpoint clinic, School Psychologist)
