WELCOME TO MUSIC
Hello! I am the music specialist at Hale Community School. My name is Elizabeth Roth. Throughout my career I have taught at all levels K-12, both instrumental and vocal music. This year in addition to Hale I will be the Instrumental music teacher at Nellie Stone Johnson and Metro St. Joe's. My schedule will be Monday at MSJ, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at Hale and Friday at NSJ.
Arts education is a core part of the curriculum and children should have aesthetic experiences as young as possible. True literacy means being able to not only perform but to read and write music. Using the work of John Feierabend as inspiration, children at Hale will be Tuneful, Beatful and Artful and feel confident performing, creating, and composing their own music.
I can be reached at 612-668-3760 or Elizabeth.Roth@mpls.k12.mn.us Always happy to hear your comments and answer your questions.
More Information about Ms Roth
I have worked in Minneapolis since 1995 at many different schools and am so happy to be back at an elementary school after 16 years at the high school level. My teaching career started in India at Woodstock School - Mussoorie. After an incredible 10 years living and teaching there we returned to Minnesota. A short stint substitute teaching landed me in my first music job in Minneapolis and the rest is history!!
I have a B.A. in Music Education from St Olaf College, I am a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music (LRSM) in Flute Performance, and received my M.A. in the Graduate Program in Music Education from the University of St. Thomas with a dual concentration in Orff and Kodaly.
