Who am I?

My name is Courtney Antone.

Family members of students are welcome to call me Courtney!

Students are welcome to call me Antone, Ms. Antone, Courtney, or "Teach(er)"!

I use she/her/hers pronouns.

I love literature of all sorts and especially poetry, but also music, art, outdoor sports, and so much more. I am proud to be a partner, an aunt, a sister, a daughter, a granddaughter, and a Minneapolis community member. I left my home in Virginia long ago, but I still say y’all...

My Philosophy

I love learning about each of the young people in my classes, and enjoy exploring ideas with them around some of the biggest questions of our day. Their voice, ideas, interests, growth, and self-discovery are important to me.

In my classes, and in my personal life, names, pronouns, consent, self-expression, joy, affinity space, and agency are of the utmost importance. I respect my students (and their families) and hope to honor their lived experiences daily.
