I am happy to be starting my 30th year of teaching at Roosevelt High School!  After teaching for 28 years at Southwest, I decided that I would end my teaching career by giving myself a new challenge to learn new things from the amazing staff at Roosevelt High school .  My passion is teaching and watching young artists find themselves through artistic exploration.   When people ask me what my art form is, I say teaching.  However, I do like to make art and have added a link to my artist's website below, as well as a page that offers links to things written about my work as a teacher.  

I have 2 amazing adult children.   Both of them attended Minneapolis Public Schools.  One was very a successful high school student, and the other struggled with school dropped out before graduating.  I tell you this because I know what it is like to be a parent of an engaged student, but I also have a special place in my heart for those that don't like school.   Both of my kids are successful adults now!
