WELCOME TO MUSIC
Hello! I am Elizabeth Roth, the General Music teacher. Throughout my career I have taught at all levels K-12, both instrumental and vocal music. I'm so excited to continue at Waite Park, now as the full-time General Music Teacher. Charles Preis will be teaching Band and Orchestra this year.
Arts education is a core part of the curriculum and children should have aesthetic experiences as young as possible. True literacy means being able to not only perform but to read and write music.

I have taught in Minneapolis since 1995 at many different schools. My teaching career started in India at Woodstock School - Mussoorie. After an incredible 10 years living and teaching there my family returned to Minnesota. A short stint substitute teaching landed me in my first music job in Minneapolis. I moved buildings several times before landing at Camden (Patrick Henry) High school for 16 marvelous years. I did miss teaching the littles ones and before it was too late I moved back to elementary teaching. No regrets, just joy, joy, joy!!
I have a B.A. in Music Education from St Olaf College, I am a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music (LRSM) in Flute Performance, and received my M.A. in the Graduate Program in Music Education from the University of St. Thomas with a dual concentration in Orff and Kodaly. I also work as an Examiner for the International Baccalaureate program assessing music coursework from around the world.
