Welcome to the wonderful world of Biology!

I wish to acknowledge and honor the Indigenous communities native to this region, and recognize that South High School and all Minneapolis Public Schools were built on homelands and resources of indigenous people.  I recognize the Anishinabe and Dakota people as past, present, and future caretakers of this land as well as People who have and will continue to be important contributors to this land and our greater society.

Hello, my name is Mick Hamilton. I have lived most of my life in Minnesota, but have also spent some time in the Olympia Washington area and on the island of Saipan in the western Pacific. I am a strong believer in the power of wonder. If we ask questions and wonder about things around us, we will constantly learn new things.

My favorite places are in nature and to that end, I hope to instill the love, respect and honor of our natural world. The world should be our classroom.

I believe that adventure creates spaces for people to find out unexpected things about themselves and others. Everyone should find an adventure.

I am a life long learner and I am beginning my 12th year teaching at South.
