What do MPS students learn in elementary social studies?
Students in grades K-3 learn foundational ideas in economics, civics, geography, and history. In grade 4 students continue to learn ideas in all four areas, but focus on geography. In grade 5 the focus is on history.

In the 2020-21 school year the Minnesota Department of Education is going through the process of evaluating and updating the standards.
