Welcome to Third Grade at Howe Elementary School!

Hi! I’m Lisa Petras and I’m very excited to be working with you and your child this year. I've been a Minneapolis Public Schools teacher since 2007 and I've worked at Howe since the first year it reopened in 2013. I have always taught elementary school, and I love third grade! My favorite subject to teach is math.

I grew up in eastern Wisconsin and went to college at UW-Madison, where I earned my degree in Elementary Education. After college, I moved to Minneapolis and started teaching. I have a K-12 reading specialist license from the University of Minnesota, and a Talent Development certificate from MPS.

I live in Minneapolis with my husband and our three kids, Natalie, Ben, and Levi. In my spare time I love to be outside, bike, read, travel, and connect with family.
