Distance Learning

Hi Families!

We are going to begin Distance Learning when we return from Spring Break on Monday, April 6.

Here are a few things you should know as we get ready for this new way of learning.

Your child’s classroom teacher and special ed teacher both have webpages you can visit. There you will find contact information and links to a few learning websites.

Your classroom teacher and your Resource teacher also have Google Classroom sites. This is where more information will be posted, including daily or weekly assignments and activities for all your subject areas. Students have all been sent an invitation to “join” their class on Google Classroom. All you need to get into your Google Classroom is your student email address.

Here you will find an invite from me and your classroom teacher waiting for you. The Google Classroom is where you will log time spent working on online programs, pick up assignments and drop off completed work, check in, and be able to meet with your teachers to talk and get help when you need it.

  • First, go to the Folwell main page .

  • Next, Go to the "Staff" page. There you will see the teachers on your team, including me. You can get to any teacher's website by selecting their name.

  • When you click on my name, you should see my website.

To go to GOOGLE CLASSROOM:

  • Click here, then find your teacher or subject you are looking for.

  • Does your family have access to technology at home? This can be a desktop computer, a laptop, or a tablet with a camera. The District is preparing to distribute technology to families who do not have it. We will know more about this by Friday.

  • Please contact me at lily.rothbart@mpls.k12.mn.us to let me know your needs or questions you may have.

  • How would you like to be contacted? We need to know if you prefer text, email, or phone call/ voicemail message, and the best time to contact you.

  • Additionally, we can meet face-to-face through Google Meet, which is also the way students and teachers will keep in touch.

See you on the 6th!

Warm regards,

Ms. Lily
