Kay Baumeister

Hi! My name is Kay Baumeister, and I am thrilled to be a member of the Jenny Lind Community. I begin teaching English in 2006 at Twin Cities Academy and then spent thirteen years teaching 10^th grade English at Visitation School. Since completing a Master of Education in Reading at the University of Wisconsin, River Falls, I’ve dreamed of broadening my teaching focus to helping young learners acquire the skills they need to be effective readers.

Jenny Lind marks a new chapter in my professional career as I work toward adding the K-12 Reading Teacher endorsement to my license and realizing my dream of teaching younger learners. Education is a powerfully transformative force -- I teach to be a force of good in the world, to inspire a love of learning, and to empower others. Outside of the classroom, I’m an avid yogi, walker, reader, serial decorator, and mother, who is happily navigating a now empty nest with my life partner, Arthur.
