How to Conduct Research and Evaluate Sources
Research
As you search for information, be sure to
Keep a list of each of your sources. This includes videos, books, websites, etc. Highlight in yellow those sources that contain information you actually used. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT STEP! YOU CAN BE DISQUALIFIED FOR PLAGIARISM!!!
Be sure you are using a legitimate source. HERE IS A VIDEO TO HELP you identify legitimate sources.Â
Wikipedia is not a legitimate source. However, the links at the bottom of a Wikipedia page can lead you to legitimate sources. If using those links, be sure they are, in fact, legitimate sources. See point #2.
If you or your team do not understand what a source says, DO NOT USE IT! If you can't paraphrase and explain what is being said in your own words, it does more harm than good.
