Mr. Ombasa is a highly experienced educator with 26 years of teaching experience and a deep commitment to excellence, equity, and student success. His teaching career began in Kenya, where he developed a strong foundation in science education and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Nairobi. He later advanced his professional preparation at the University of Minnesota, earning a graduate degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Science Education. Throughout his career, Mr. Ombasa has served students in diverse educational settings, including English as a Second Language (ESL) classrooms, classrooms supporting students with varied abilities, and collaborative teaching environments alongside ESL educators. These experiences have strengthened his expertise in differentiated instruction, collaboration, and creating inclusive learning environments where every student is encouraged to succeed. Beyond his work in the classroom, Mr. Ombasa is an active leader in the Kenyan community, where he contributes his time and experience to community activities and initiatives that foster service, connection, and leadership.
