How do I apply for scholarships?

Application Requirements

RESUME

Upload your professional resume to google classroom.

Make sure you include information about volunteer work, activities outside of school, work experience, or anything that can make you stand out.

TWO LETTERS OF REC

The letters of recommendation are uploaded by your teachers.

One letter of rec should be from a core teacher (English, Math, Science, or Social Studies)

Your second letter of rec should be from any other teacher.

Always ask people who KNOW YOU to write your letters of rec.

TWO ESSAYS

Essay #1: REQUIRED

Where do you see yourself five and ten years from now? How do your current plans include attending and studying at a post-secondary institution? (Be specific about your goals and how you're going to accomplish them.)

Essay #2: CHOOSE ONE PROMPT

OPTION A: What challenges in your life have you overcome and how has that made you a stronger or better person?
(use this prompt if you're applying for the
Beat the Odds Scholarship)

OPTION B: What is something in your life that you are passionate about (love or enjoy doing) and how might that affect your future career choices?

OPTION C: What experience in your life did you learn the most from and what did you learn? What advice would you give to a 9th grader based on what you have learned in high school?

BEFORE completing your application,
you need to know who is writing your letters of recommendation
AND who is proofreading the essays.

In order to be eligible for scholarships
through the Edison Scholarship and Memorial Foundation
or the Edison Community and Sports Foundation,
your application materials must be COMPLETE and ON TIME.

ESMF Application for the Class of 2023 will be due October, 25th.

No late submissions accepted.
