Real World Experience:
In their senior year, students may take the Parapro test (which is required for many paraprofessional/assistant educator positions)! This is optional but highly recommended to help make you competitive in the job market.
You will earn an Education Certificate after taking all five courses which will give you priority jobs in Minneapolis Public Schools (close to $10,000 worth of college credits for free through concurrent enrollment at South High). All courses are transferable to any MN State College or University (MNSCU) and University of MN.
It also transfers in most private colleges and out of state schools, but you will need to work with those schools to make sure. You can also look it up on this TRANSFEROLOGY WEBSITE but some times it is not updated and so it is best to speak to an Admissions Counselor at the college that you're interested in. The courses will usually count for their Education Major/Minor and, at the least, as Elective College credits.
