Tutoring

• AVID provides tutor-facilitated study groups. Provides academic support & organizational skills to improve student success in all subjects. 

• Small group tutoring occurs twice a week

Course Overview:

*All grade levels work on writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization,   and reading skills. 

9th Grade: 

• Students get support in the transition to high school 

• Practice researching skills & problem-solving skills

• Work on writing and note-taking strategies

10th Grade:

• College & Career Center activities

• Practice public speaking skills

• Work on writing & note-taking strategies

11th Grade:

• Receive free ACT Exam Prep

• Research colleges, careers, and scholarships

• Practice filling out job applications & job interviewing skills

• Learn about money

12th Grade:

• Complete the college application process

• Receive writing support for college & scholarship essays

• Connect with community partners in a mentorship program

• Learn about money
