In the Library Media Center, students look for and checkout books and ebooks, learn about literature, technology, research, and information literacy. Students also learn to code, evaluate websites, determine what's a fact and what's fake, and use different platforms for presenting information. All students will come at least once a week for book checkout, and will also visit for project-based instruction and access.
MPS Library Media curriculum is based on AASL (American Association of School Librarians) ITEM (Information and Technology Educators of Minnesota/Minnesota Library Association) and ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) Standards.
Ms. Mangal, M.S.L.S
I have been a licensed School Librarian/ Media Teacher for over 25 years. I attended the University of St. Thomas, the Sorbonne (University of Paris) and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. I love teaching students about the research process or helping them find a book that sparks their interest in something new. I also love sharing my writing experience as a published author. Learning is limitless in Library Media class!
Once you learn to read, you will be forever free.
