As part of the Comprehensive District Design, all Dowling 5th grade students have the opportunity to learn an instrument at school! Use this website to learn about the different instruments and make sure to turn in the form below letting Ms. Allison know which instruments you want to try!

All materials are provided for students free of charge in the Dowling Band program. However, many consumables such as reeds and valve oil need to be replaced every year. If you are able, please consider purchasing something on the Dowling Band Supply Amazon Wishlist!

ALL 5th graders will complete the Instrument Choice Form on paper or the google form below indicating their top THREE instrument choices to try out.

Students will meet with Ms. Allison to try out their top 3 choices and to help each student find the "best fitting" instrument.

Then, instruments will be assigned and distributed. MPS will provide instruments. Donations are welcome to help defray the costs of other supplies like reeds, valve oil, and music. Parents are welcome to provide instruments for their child, but it is not required.
