Hello Students, families and friends,
My name is Benjamin Kimmel and I have been teaching students in Minneapolis for over 26 years. My initial B.S. degree is in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota Institute of Child Development. My teaching license is from MN dept. of Ed and the University Of St. Thomas Collaborative Urban Educators Program.
Some of the positions I have held in Minneapolis range from teaching 4th and 5 grade elementary school, 3-6th grade gifted and talented classrooms and 14 years as a STEM science specialist at Andersen United Community School. My current position is the Technology Teacher for Anne Sullivan STEAM Magnet School.
All of these teaching experiences come together while I provide learning opportunities to hundreds of students in our district. I could not imagine a better job than helping the students in our community become life long learners and proud community members.
Personal Notes:
Mr. Kimmel enjoys a continual process of learning and growing as an educator while also continue a life long study of piano, music production and recording. His home recording studio also brings opportunities to work with fellow musicians from both the local music scene and greater music community. He lives in South Minneapolis with his two cats (Sammy and Pumpkin),
I am very happy to be a member of the Anne Sullivan learning community and can always be reached at
