About Miss Amelia: 

Amelia D. Marquez (She/They) is a Coahuiltecan Native American and Latina high school educator who holds a BA in Mass Communication and a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a social science broadfield emphasis from Montana State University Billings. With a passion for politics and education, Amelia has been recognized for her achievements and was a candidate for office in Montana. She has also been recognized as a Forward Montana 25 Under 25 Award recipient in 2018 and has been featured on NPR's All Things Considered, MTV, NBC, Remezcla, and the New York Times. In her free time, Amelia enjoys theatre, music, reading, research, and exploring the beautiful public lands of Montana through walks and hikes. Her ultimate goal is to continue teaching and eventually pursue a PhD.
