What is physics? Physics is the study of everything. Enough said, right? Probably not. It is the study of the world around us and the world inside of us. It is the study of the biggest of things down to the smallest of things. It is the study of the macro and micro; from galaxies to subatomic particles. It is the study of matter and energy through space and time. It is the study of how things work and why they work. Physics is constantly changing, challenging, weird, and at times hard, but can also be fun. Physics is the underpinning of all other sciences and that’s what makes it so important in understanding the world around us and being educated, informed citizens

This is a block class, meaning that it spans two class hours (4th and 5th period with a lunch break in between). As such, it is a semester long but earns a year's worth of credit. In this class, we will be building on and digging deeper into concepts you have experienced in previous years and include:

Unit 1 - Motion and Stability

Unit 2 - Forces and Interactions

Unit 3 - Energy

Unit 4 - Waves and their Applications
