"Talk It Out"

Students use "Talk It Out" as a way of resolving small problems. Students start with “eye contact” and use “I” statements to communicate their feelings. This helps build children’s confidence in resolving their own small problems. They can be facilitated by an adult or done independently. Larger, more serious problems would be resolved with a teacher and/or administrative staff. Repeated "Talk It Outs" (2 or more) would require an intervention with Counselor Bloom and possibly a principal.
