Plain and simple, these are videos that showcase direct instruction, lecture, or explain the steps of an assignment. Typically, set up in chunks of around 7 - 10 minutes.
Students will watch these types of videos before class (Flipped model) or before starting an assignment and can re-watch as needed for understanding.

A video blog, also known as vlogging, has become one of the most popular forms of digital entertainment. It is popularly believed that, alongside being entertaining, vlogs can deliver deep context through imagery as opposed to written blogs.
Can be used with: Playlists, Show in 60,
Warm-Ups, HyperDocs, Choice Boards, Multimedia Text Sets, Review, Assignment Walkthroughs
These are SHORT videos, 1-3 minutes in length that serve as reminders or review for students about ideas discussed in class, concepts taught a while ago, or important information to not forget, such as "Need a reminder about the Pythagorean theorem before you start? Watch this video!"
Can be used with: Playlists, HyperDocs, Choice Boards, Multimedia Text Sets, Introduction of Concepts
YouTubers unbox all sorts of things, from clothing to shoes, to makeup, to food...and we love watching the person on camera react to each new item taken out of the box.
But why do we watch them? Because the people on the video feel like experts! They describe the item telling us everything about it from the color, weight, how they feel about it, and maybe even history about the company. We learn something by watching!
Now, transfer this idea to our classrooms and literally UN-box concepts like they were items in a box!
Can be used with: Warm-Ups, Review, Feedback, Introduction of Unit, Assignment Explanation
Question and Answer (Q&A) videos are helpful for when you want to answer common questions students may have about a particular topic. They can be used to preview an upcoming unit, review at the end of a unit, or used anywhere in between to answer questions students may have.
