To request an extension, you must make an appointment and meet with me during office hours (either in person or via Zoom). We will use this time to discuss time management, your plan for completion, and review course material. Extensions are not guaranteed and are granted at my discretion based on the circumstances and the nature of the assignment. You must come prepared with a realistic timeline and plan for submission.
All assignments turned in late will incur a 10% penalty per day, including weekends and holidays, up to 10 days past the due date. After 10 days, the assignment will automatically receive a zero and will no longer be accepted.
Some papers may be revised and resubmitted after reviewing instructor feedback, resubmissions must be completed within one week of receiving feedback unless otherwise discussed at an office hours appointment.
Class discussion assignments cannot be made up under any circumstances, as they rely on timely participation from the whole class.
Do not wait until the end of the semester to seek help or ask for extensions. Mastery of course material takes time and consistent effort. Last-minute work will not prepare you for future coursework or professional success. Take the initiative early and communicate regularly.
Points you receive for graded activities will be posted to the Canvas Grade Book. Click Grades from the Course Navigation menu at the left of the Canvas course home page to see your grades.
Your instructor will update the online grades each time a grading session has been complete—typically within 3-5 days of the due date of an activity. You will see a visual indication of new grades posted on your Canvas home page under the link to this course.
Final grades assigned for this course will be based on the percentage of total points earned and are assigned as follows:
