San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance is an international, nonprofit conservation organization with two front doors: the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. We integrate wildlife health and care, science, and education to develop sustainable conservation solutions. San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance is committed to saving species worldwide by uniting our expertise in wildlife care and conservation science with our dedication to inspiring passion for nature. When wildlife thrives, all life thrives! Port of San Diego
Lunch included
Sponsored by Fastenal
Immerse yourself in the San Diego bayfront with a walking tour led by Port of San Diego staff for an overview of career opportunities with the Port itself as well as with the broad array of Port tenants. Walk 1.2 miles along the waterfront embarcadero from the USS Midway Museum and the under-construction Freedom Park, through Seaport Village, and end at the iconic Rady Shell, San Diego’s newest outdoor concert venue. Learn about this real estate Port’s portfolio of hotels, marinas, yacht clubs, restaurants, and attractions. As the steward and manager of 34 miles of waterfront property, the Port of San Diego collects no taxes but rather generates its revenue from a share of tenants’ gross revenue. In addition to cargo and cruise operations, as well as shipbuilding and ship repair, the Port is also a national leader in aquaculture and operates a Blue Tech Incubator. The “Port of Firsts” also owns the first all-electric, heavy-lift cranes in the U.S., is home to the first battery-powered tugboat, and has the ambitious goal of 100% zero emissions trucks and equipment by 2030. Careers at the Port and with Port tenants include those in environmental protection, public safety (the Port has its own police department), marketing and communications, parks and recreation, commercial and sport-fishing, hospitality, entertainment, real estate development, and so much more.
