Who are we?

• We are a nationally competitive speech and debate team located in Marshall, Missouri.

• MVC Debate and Forensics consistently has debates in high level debates year round.

• We have advanced to elimination rounds in 100% of tournaments in the 2022-2023 season.

Why summer camp at Valley?

• We offer high level coaching from debaters who have immense experience in national elimination rounds at both the high school and collegiate level.

• A small, safe campus for students to explore debate.

• We offer instruction in Lincoln-Douglas, Policy and Public Forum formats of debate.

Cost

• Commuter $100 includes:

  • Access to multiple high level coaches

  • Lunch and Dinner at our Cafeteria

• On Campus $250 includes:

  • Access to multiple high level coaches

  • Lunch and Dinner (sack lunches provided by our Cafeteria)

  • Dorm stay for the duration of the week

What we offer?

• A highly skilled staff ready to meet the needs of the students attending in Public Forum, Lincoln-Douglas or Policy formats of debate.

• Topic lectures on the 2023-2024 high school debate topic(s).

• A camp focused on increasing the skill of debaters by running a set of exercises.

• Because we focus on skills, our file set will be only include one Affirmative file, two disadvantage files and a counterplan.
