Course Curriculum

This is a 7th grade science course that covers 8 major units:

Students are required to have the following items with them in class each day:

Grades are calculated using weighted category averages, as follows:

Academic (70%)

Tests & Major Projects = 30%

Labs & Minor Projects = 25%

Quizzes = 15%

Habits of Learning (30%)

Classwork & Homework = 20%

Preparation & Participation = 10%

All assignments must meet the following requirements. Assignments that do not meet these requirements may have points deducted or need to be redone:

- Neatly handwritten or typed

- Completed in pencil or blue/black ink

- Include first name, last name, date, period

- Use complete sentences and correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation

Students must have their homework complete and with them in class the day it is due to receive full credit. Late assignments will receive partial credit. Any assignment not received by the end of the marking period will receive a grade of zero.
Work missed due to absences must be made up in a timely fashion. It is your responsibility to see the teacher for work you missed.
You must let your teacher know whenever you make up a missing online assignment.
Any student who does not demonstrate safe and responsible behavior during a lab or group activity will not be permitted to participate in that activity. He or she will be given an alternate assignment to complete.

A+ = 100

A = 93-99

A- = 90-92

B+ = 87-89

B = 83-86

B- = 80-82

C+ = 77-79

C = 73-76

C- = 70-72

D = 65-69

F = 64 and below

High Honor Roll = A or higher in all subjects

Honor Roll = B or higher in all subjects
