Students in Careers Plus learn how to be successful in life after high school--both on the job and in relationships with others. Careers Plus students will have the opportunity to explore a variety career pathways through job shadow experiences and career-related field trips. Students in this class will explore and evaluate their post-secondary options--from certificate and diploma programs to bachelor's degree programs and everything in between. Students will learn successful employment and interpersonal skills in the classroom and have the opportunity to apply them on-the-job and at school. By the end of the course, students will develop a realistic post-secondary plan.
Careers Plus students who have a part-time job can earn school credit for working! In addition to earning classroom credit, students are able to earn additional elective credit while working part-time. Employed, credit-eligible students may qualify for early on-the-job-training release (hours 5 and/or 6). Contact your dean or Ms. Zappa for more information!
