Welcome!

My name is Alissa McCourt and I have the privilege of being the Art Specialist at Valentine Hills! This is my 6th year at Valentine. 

My goal as an educator is to empower young artists by creating a space where their ideas are valued, mistakes are celebrated as new learning, and they can build independence as creative thinkers.

In order to achieve this, we focus less on the product the student creates and more on the PROCESS and EVIDENCE of thinking. We use a choice-based classroom model called Teaching for Artistic Behavior (TAB).
