Course Description
Sixth grade Social Studies is a year long course focusing on the state of Minnesota. Students will use the tools of geography, history, economics and government to engage in historical inquiry and study events, issues, and individuals significant to Minnesota history, beginning with the early indigenous people of the Mississippi River region to the present day. Students will learn about the unique role Minnesota played, and continues to play, in the regional, national, and global setting.
We will be using a textbook from the Minnesota Historical Society, Northern Lights as well as the online version of the textbook. An updated list of the websites used in class can be found on my website listed above.
