You can expect a graded assessment for you/your child every 2 weeks.  

Assessments will typically be assigned at the end of a learning week and due by the next time I see you/your student.  This gives your student time to ask questions if they do not understand the assignment while still having time to complete the assessment.

Grades and Grade Meaning

A - Above Profficiency.  Students can apply what they learn to an unfamiliar scenario.  These scenarios would have students apply what they learned to an advanced problem or require students to think deeper about when/how to apply their learning to a problem.

B- Proficient.  Students can solve prolems like the ones learned about in class with little to no mistakes.

C- Partially Proficient.  Students can solve basic level problems with little to no mistakes. Students know how to get started on more advanced problems, even if they cannot yet solve them completely.

D - On the Path, but still needs work.  Students can solve basic level problems, but might make a few mistakes.  Students are not sure how to get started on more advanced problems.  OR Students solved all the problems but there are some mistakes and errors causing most of the solutions to be incorrect.

I - Not Proficient.  Students know how to start basic level problems but do not know how to complete them.  Students are not sure how to get started on more advanced problems.  OR Students solved all problems but there are many mistakes and errrors. 

Students are welcome to retake an assessment.  The relearning expectations are that students watch videos on the checklist/resource page and make a notesheet.  They can search for extra examples on youtube if necessary.  Students must bring this in to me the day of their retake or before to discuss the material in order to ensure they are prepared to do the test.
