Greetings, scholars and families!
My name is Sarah Black and I am thrilled to be part of the Highview community. I bring over 15 years of classroom experience and an energetic enthusiasm to learn with and from my students and colleagues.
I graduated with my bachelor's degree in history and social science, and my 5-12 social studies teaching license from the University of Minnesota, Morris. Additionally, I earned my master's degree in Leadership in Education from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
I am committed to building students' critical literacy skills and understanding of multiple perspectives, as well as empowering students to explore their own curiosities through project-based learning.
Outside of school, I love to travel, play volleyball, support MN baseball, go to concerts and plays, and spend time with family and friends. My husband and I live in Northeast Minneapolis with our two cats, Maisel and Frankie, and puppy, Lucy.
