Let me introduce myself!
My name is Valerie Kath. I grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa. I moved to Minnesota to attend the University of St. Thomas, where I earned Bachelor's Degrees in Elementary Education and Psychology. I ran cross country and track at St. Thomas and met my husband, Josh, while doing so. Josh and I have three children. Cole is a sophomore at Dunwoody College of Technology. Lauren is a senior and Ryan is a sophomore at Mounds View High School.

This is my 14th year teaching. I taught first grade for 5 years in north Minneapolis before having children. I stayed home with our children for 11 years and returned to the classroom when they were all in full-day school. This is my 9th year teaching kindergarten at Snail Lake.

When I am not teaching I love simply being home with my family. We love to spend time outdoors. We enjoy biking, camping, bonfires with good friends, and spending time on the lake (skiing, tubing, & lounging in the summer and ice skating in the winter). I also enjoy running, reading, and sewing.
