Meet Mr. Lundberg

My name is Mike Lundberg. I grew up in White Bear Lake, MN. I received my teaching degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, and received my Masters Degree from Bethel University. I live in Birchwood Village, MN. I have an amazing wife named Britta who is a psychologist. We have a sports and music loving 7 year old named Henry who is in 2nd this year and and a wildflower of a 4 year old girl named Isla who loves all things unicorns and rainbows.

My two favorite things to do in my free time are play golf and curling (the goofy sport on ice). I also enjoy spending my summers and weekends camping, fishing, or doing just about anything that gets me out in nature. In 2014 I took a 6,000 mile road trip in which I camped in 9 different national parks. We are fortunate to live in one amazing country.

I was the science specialist at Island Lake for 5 years, then two years as a 5th grade homeroom teacher. I really enjoyed working and teaching at Island Lake, but I have been and Highview since 2014, and I love it here. I am looking forward to another great year.

Please never hesitate to contact me with questions, concerns, exciting news, etc... I know that the quality of home/school communication is one of the most important factors of student success. The quality education of our children is the result of a healthy partnership between families, schools, and the community that supports them.

My preferred form of communication is email, simply because it is easy for me to access anywhere. I will also be using the TalkingPoints texting app frequently throughout the year to give quick updates. But always feel free to call. I will always do my best to get back to you within 24 hours regardless of whether you email or leave a message. The best time to reach me this year by phone is between 7 and 7:30 am.
