Expectations

· Prepared - Class starts at the bell! This means students have all materials ready to go, working on the bell work, and have the assignment out before the bell rings

· Respect - Respect for everybody and every thing. Golden Rule.

· Integrity – Hold yourself to high expectations...behavior and performance.

· Dependability - Expect an assignment EVERY day. Time will be given in class to begin homework. Share responsibility with me in seeking help when confused.

· Effort - "Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly."

Planners

· Students will need to fill out their planner everyday with CW and HW

· This is the main source of student responsibility

· Students must have a filled out planner to use the restroom or get a drink!

Daily Work

· Students will work independently, in pairs, and in groups.

· I encourage students who are struggling to stay after school for extra help. I stay after school long after the bell when available. The Math room runs Tues, Wed, Thurs from 3pm-4pm and is available to all students.

· Assignments will be collected Wednesdays and Fridays. Parents will be notified if more than two assignments are missing in a unit. Parents/students will also be able to view missing work on SchoolVUE/ParentVUE.

Notes

· A three-subject notebook (just for math) will be needed in order to organize notes, assignments, and problem of the days.

· Notes will be given on the board; students will be expected to copy these into their math notebooks.

Grading

· Practice (daily assignments, worksheets, notes): 20%

· Performance (tests, quizzes, projects): 80%

· Retakes

Mandatory Retakes - score is below 75%

-Finish all homework (no credit after test)

-Meet with me to see if any extra practice is needed

-Set up a date to retake (must take within two weeks of the test)

Optional Retakes - student is not satisfied with their performance but scored above 75%

-Meet with me to see what type of problems you need to practice

-Set up a date to retake (must take within two weeks of the test)

· There will be no extra credit given in this district.

· Late Work – Late work can be turned in at any time with no point deduction on the assignment. Note that assignments are meant to be preparation for the test, so should be completed prior to the test. You can see any late assignments in the gradebook with a red "Late" label and if it is a pattern, we can discuss a plan to resolve the issue.
