Hi. I’m Phillip. I am so looking forward to being a part of the Edgewood staff. I am not new to the district.

I retired in June of 2021 after working as the director of bands at Mounds View High School for 31 years.

This past school year I periodically substituted for my band  colleagues, worked as a long term band substitute at Maple Grove High School for about two months and was the substitute band director the

last two weeks of school at Edgewood. Some of the things I enjoy are making music with the Minnesota Symphonic Winds, laughing with family and friends and recreating my Mother’s recipes.

Mr. Blinn is in his 9th year teaching band in Mounds View Schools.

He holds a bachelor's degree in music education from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and a master’s degree from the American Band College of Sam Houston State University.

Mr. Blinn teaches band lessons at Edgewood and Chippewa Middle Schools, as well as 5th grade band at Sunnyside Elementary School.
